Ed Depenbrok
Principal. Ed founded dbrok group in 2001 and has over thirty years of banking experience in all areas of financial management. In 23 years of experience at Bank One, he held positions ranging from Controller at community banks, to Chief Financial Officer at the state holding company, to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the national Retail business line.

In ten years with dbrok group, Ed has worked with many community banks providing financial management support, coaching and development, and directing performance improvement projects. Recently, he completed a nearly two and a half year assignment as the non employee Chief Financial Officer of CIB Marine Banchshares, Pewaukee, Wisconsin, a publicly traded Bank Holding Company. During his tenure, he was an integral part of the successful capital restructuring of the company through an innovative use of Chapter 11 bankruptcy by a banking company.

Ed knows the best practices in use and how to apply them. He particularly understands that information needs and requirements vary at different companies and he can adapt best practice tools and concepts to enhance the financial management process of any community bank. Because of the strong value he places in working as a partner with clients, he ensures their needs are met and feasible action plans are successfully executed to meet business objectives.


Beth Clark
Director, Funds Management Services. Beth joined dbrok group in 2001 to expand the firms skill set to include treasury management. She has an extensive background in treasury management, investment portfolio management, interest rate risk measurement and control, asset-liability management, and securities and broker-dealer activities. She spent 17 years with a regional bank in various treasury management activities, culminating in serving as Executive Vice President, Treasury and directing wholesale funding positions of $1-2 billion and a fixed income investment portfolio of $1 billion.

As a part of dbrok group, she has provided critical support to community bank clients in recognizing, understanding, and managing the risks that are inherent in their balance sheets, and identifying opportunities to strengthen them. As a part of her work with clients, she performs assessments of treasury management tools and processes, develops specialized reporting and analysis to improve balance sheet management, and provides coaching and training to improve in-house staff’s capabilities in managing the ALCO and deposit pricing processes.

With her extensive experience, combined with excellent interpersonal skills, Beth can quickly make an impact at a community bank whether it is improving technical reporting and processes or training and developing overall knowledge at board, management, or staff levels in all facets of balance sheet management.


Paul Ewig
Director, Accounting and Financial Services. Paul affiliated with dbrok group as an independent management consultant, in 2008, broadening the firm’s skills in technical accounting, SEC reporting, and overall accounting and financial management. He has over thirty years experience in accounting, financial management, and business line management. His background includes major accounting firm experience, accounting management at a regional bank holding company, and serving as CFO for various bank holding company operating units.

In addition to serving as Chief Financial Officer for a regional bank holding company’s Trust Company, he also served as its Chief Operating Officer. More recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded community bank holding company.

Paul’s extensive banking industry experience combined with strong accounting skills enables him to provide effective support to clients in areas ranging from SEC reporting, to accounting processes and procedure improvement, to financial management, to coaching and development of accounting and finance staff, where he brings current best practices into the organization.
